Tree pollarding works beginning on the Greensands
Dumfries and Galloway Council has appointed a contractor to carry out pollarding – a traditional and sustainable pruning method that involves removing selected upper branches during the dormant season.
No Trees Are Currently Being Removed
These works involve pruning only – no trees will be felled at this time. The works are solely focused on pruning to manage their structure and to prevent birds nesting. Trees will be removed when the Greensands phase of construction work commences.
What Happens Next
The works are expected to take place over the next two weeks. These activities form an important part of preparing the site for construction later this year.
