Dumfries Fairs unaffected as Whitesands Project preparations continue

The temporary site compound at Dockhead, along with any remaining equipment from recent site investigation works, has been fully cleared ahead of the March Fair arriving this week.

Working in Partnership with Fair Organisers

The Dumfries Fairs Working Group – which brings together the Showmen’s Guild, Fair Scotland, council officers and the Whitesands Project design team – continues to meet monthly. Together, they are developing a long‑term arrangement to ensure the Fair can continue to be hosted safely and successfully once construction of the Whitesands Project is complete.

This close, ongoing engagement means future planning is collaborative, with the longstanding cultural importance of the Fair at the forefront of discussions.
