Dumfries and Galloway Council is encouraging individuals, families, schools, community groups and businesses across the region to take part in this year’s #SpringCleanScotland, running from 13 March to 24 April 2026.
Dumfries and Galloway Council and Dumfries and Galloway Youth Council came together on Thursday 19 February for the sixth annual Joint Meeting at The Bridge, continuing the region’s commitment to ensuring that young people are actively involved in shaping local policy, services and future priorities.
Councillors today (Tuesday 10 February) received an update on the implications of the Scottish Government’s Local Government Finance Settlement for 2026/27, as work continues towards setting the council’s budget later this month.
Around 12,500 homes and businesses in Dumfries and Galloway are set to benefit from a major investment in gigabit-capable broadband, following the announcement of an additional £18 million through the UK Government’s Project Gigabit programme.
