About Licensing Board meetings

The Licensing Board considers applications and reviews for alcohol and gambling licences. 

The Board holds public meetings where Councillors consider applications and other licensing matters that need a decision by the Board.

This means members of the public can hear information about:

  • applications
  • objections
  • representations
  • licence reviews

Licensing Board meetings are held in public. Information relating to licensing applications and other matters before the Board, including personal information submitted by applicants and third parties, may be included in published reports and discussed during the meeting.

Attend a meeting

Search for future and previous Licensing Board meetings

You may watch the proceedings but you are not allowed to participate in, or address, the Board unless entitled to do so in relation to a matter being considered.

All meetings must be held in public and anyone may attend (either in person or remotely via MS Teams).

Requesting online access to a meeting

If you are a member of the public and want to observe the meeting online, you can request a Microsoft Teams invite link from the Licensing Service in advance of the meeting.

Who attends the meeting

It is only possible to speak about a particular application being considered by the Board if you:

  • are the applicant, licence holder or agent
  • have made a written submission about the application (whether in favour or against it)
  • have submitted this in time for consideration by the Board

Board papers

Board papers contain the information Board members need to consider the items on the meeting agenda. Depending on the case, this can include applications, reports from Licensing Standars Officers and other relevant information.
