Withdrawing your child from school to home educate

When we need to give consent, how we assess your child's educational needs at home, gaining approval and ongoing support.

We encourage home educators to work together with us to develop trust, mutual respect and a positive relationship in the best interests of the child. 

We are committed to working with parents, guardians, and anyone liable to maintain or have parental responsibilities or care of a child or young person, to make sure that they can get the best possible start in life. This includes meeting the educational needs of all children and young persons, whilst recognising that there may be a wish to home educate.
