Where works have commenced and necessary applications are not made in advance, the initial permissions charge will be doubled.
Road works and excavations (Section 56 RSA) charges
Charges apply for works and excavations on public roads, with fees varying by type:
- standard works include private driveway crossings
- minor works cover all other excavations
- major works involve occupying the road to undertake more significant works within the road boundary

Roadworks permissions charges
Charges apply for New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (Section 109 NRSWA) roadworks permissions, with fees varying for initial applications and renewals. Fees are charged per 100m of apparatus installed.

If you want to request information around a road boundary there is a minimum charge of £67.50 per A4 plan.
