Young people from across Dumfries and Galloway came together this week to share ideas, develop their leadership skills and help shape the future of sport and physical activity in their schools and communities.
Our council will provide a single payment of £25 per child to help cover the cost of meals while schools are closed from Monday 12 October 2026 to Friday 23 October 2026. This is available to all eligible families registered for Free School Meals on financial grounds. The payment covers 10 weekdays across the school holidays at a rate of £2.50 per day.
Try something new, get back into fitness or enjoy a free swim. Leisure centres across Dumfries and Galloway are offering free activities for National Fitness Day on Wednesday 16 September.
