New five-year housing strategy and progress on Local Development Plan 3 pave the way for more affordable homes, sustainable growth and thriving communities across Dumfries and Galloway.
Dumfries and Galloway Council has unveiled its new Local Housing Strategy (LHS), a comprehensive plan that outlines the region’s vision, priorities and actions for delivering high-quality housing and related services over the coming years.
This is the amount generated for the local economy each year by nine signature events held across the region. During 2024, more than 70,000 people attended these events.
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s pioneering work to address the housing emergency in the region has been recognised, winning the Innovation in Housing category at the prestigious 2025 Municipal Journal Awards held in London.
