Plans to create more affordable homes, help prevent homelessness and bring empty properties back into use across Dumfries and Galloway are set to be considered by councillors next month.
Dumfries and Galloway Council is supporting Drowning Prevention Week 2026, urging residents and visitors to stay safe while enjoying the region’s rivers, lochs and coastline.
A new £900,000 fund to support housing regeneration, improve property conditions and help deliver affordable homes across Dumfries and Galloway has been approved by councillors.
Dumfries and Galloway Council is encouraging owners of empty properties – as well as prospective buyers – to take part in the Empty Homes Matchmaker Scheme, a free service designed to bring unused homes back into productive use.
