Dumfries and Galloway Council has been made aware of an issue affecting access to Direct Payment card accounts provided by Prepaid Financial Services (PFS).

Dumfries and Galloway Council is pleased to confirm that all school transport services will operate from the beginning of the next academic year, ensuring every eligible child has access to safe and reliable transport to and from school.

Dumfries and Galloway Council will reopen Kirkcudbright Bridge to cars and light vans from 7am Wednesday 2 July 2025, operating under single-lane traffic control. This follows a comprehensive programme of structural assessments, safety checks, and proposed mitigation measures.

Business as usual, as vast majority of subsidised bus routes in Dumfries and Galloway will continue as normal, with routes allocated to local bus operators.
