Dumfries and Galloway Council is working with short-term let owners as the time is approaching to renew licences. This affects around 1700 license holders across the region, with the majority of renewals required in early 2026.
The official launch of the £130 million Lochside Masterplan was met with strong community support as over 100 residents gathered at the YMCA centre in Lochside Road to hear from local leaders and partners about the transformational regeneration plans.
The Scottish Government has awarded Dumfries and Galloway Council £1.57 million funding to transform Lochvale House in Georgetown into a vibrant, sustainable community hub and employment centre, supporting over 5,000 local residents and tackling poverty and inequality in some of Dumfries’ most deprived areas.
