The Forum keeps under review the decisions of the Licensing Board and considers the impact of those decisions at local level. It can also give advice and make recommendations to the Licensing Board, taking account of the licensing objectives set out in the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
The licensing objectives are:
- preventing crime and disorder
- securing public safety
- preventing public nuisance
- protecting and improving public health
- protecting children and young persons from harm
The Forum will meet four times a year. Meetings will be held in public, with agendas, papers and minutes published online.
We are looking for people from a range of backgrounds and interests, including:
- health, education and social work
- young people
- people who live in the Forum area
- holders of premises or personal liquor licences
- others with an interest in alcohol and licensing issues, such as emergency services, council services and alcohol support agencies
