Dumfries and Galloway Council has awarded £270,061 to the Robert Burns Ellisland Trust to deliver the next critical stage in the restoration of Ellisland Farm, the home built by Robert Burns and the birthplace of Auld Lang Syne.
The Crichton Royal Institution (CRI) Archive has been inscribed onto the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in recognition of its internationally significant record of pioneering mental health care, creativity and patient voice in 19th century Dumfries.
Following a comprehensive recruitment process, councillors have appointed Alan Mawson as Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Head of Facilities, Waste and Neighbourhood Services.
