Dumfries and Galloway Council has awarded £270,061 to the Robert Burns Ellisland Trust to deliver the next critical stage in the restoration of Ellisland Farm, the home built by Robert Burns and the birthplace of Auld Lang Syne.

Following a decision by councillors at Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Economy and Infrastructure committee on 2 September, the council will now take steps to explore the potential introduction of a Visitor Levy scheme, aimed at enhancing the region’s tourism infrastructure and supporting sustainable growth in the visitor economy.
The Scottish Government has awarded Dumfries and Galloway Council £1.34 million funding towards the Annan Harbour Regeneration Project from the Vacant and Derelict Land Investment Programme.
