Residents, community groups, land managers, businesses and organisations are being invited to share their views on biodiversity as part of engagement on Dumfries and Galloway’s draft Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP).
Councillors are to consider the findings of a detailed review of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) across Dumfries and Galloway, looking at how the service can be adapted and potentially restructured to meet future needs.
Dumfries and Galloway is set to become a national leader in landscape‑scale nature recovery as two major regional projects – SCAMP Landscape Connections and the Galloway Fisheries Trust’s Flowing Forward – Restoring Galloway’s Rivers Project – have been jointly selected by the Scottish Government as one of only nine exemplar projects across Scotland.
Applications are now open for Dumfries and Galloway Council’s 2026 Garden Waste Collection Service. Sign up by 31 January to enjoy convenient fortnightly kerbside collections from March to November for just £40 per bin permit – helping you keep your garden tidy and reduce trips to the recycling centre.
