For more than a decade, the much‑loved MyPod Mobile Youth Centre has travelled the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway, bringing youth activities, support and safe spaces to remote and rural communities. First launched in 2011, it has been a hub for everything from drop‑ins to creative workshops — and now it’s time for a brand‑new chapter.
A fresh start – designed by young people
Work is beginning on a complete redesign of the Mobile Youth Centre, and the Youth Work Service wants young people to lead the way. A new steering group is being formed, giving participants the chance to decide how the new unit looks, feels, and functions.
From interior layout and technology to creative features and new ways to use the space, the steering group will have real influence over every aspect of the design.
“This is a rare and exciting opportunity,” the team says. “Young people will be at the heart of shaping what mobile youth work looks like for years to come.”
How it works
The steering group will meet several times throughout February, March, and April, both online and in person. After the initial design phase, the group will continue to meet as needed as the project moves forward.
Your details will only be collected if you choose to share them.
Once submitted, a member of the Youth Work team will get in touch with the first dates for February’s design sessions.
