Dumfries and Galloway Council will publish its Council Plan 2025/26 year-end performance report on Friday 13 March 2026.
This comes ahead of the Full Council meeting on Thursday 26 March 2026.
The report summarises progress against the Council Plan’s commitments, and will be presented to councillors.
It highlights notable achievements in community investment, job creation, road repairs and housing, and identifies areas for further improvement.
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s performance report covers all key themes of the Council Plan 2023-2027. It details how council initiatives have made a difference over the financial year 2025/26. Key highlights include:
- Major community investment: over £50 million in external funding has been secured since 2023, boosting town centre revitalisation, new community facilities and business growth across Dumfries and Galloway.
- Jobs and opportunities: more than 1200 people have moved into jobs or training through council programmes, strengthening the region’s workforce and supporting young people.
- Improved roads and infrastructure: over 4200 km of local roads have been maintained this year, with extensive resurfacing and repairs making travel safer region-wide.
- Affordable housing progress: dozens of new affordable homes have been delivered or are under construction, providing quality housing for families across local communities.
In addition, elected members will be asked to agree the council’s delivery plan for financial year 2026/27.
Councillor Katie Hagmann, Convener of Dumfries and Galloway Council, said:
“As a council, we must be open and accountable about our performance. This year-end report shows the solid progress we’re making – and it doesn’t shy away from where we have more work to do.
“We are delivering on many of our commitments, and people can see achievements like new jobs, better roads and support for communities.
“We will continue working hard to improve our services and build on our successes, so that Dumfries and Galloway remains a great place to live.”
