Dumfries and Galloway Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Thompson said:
"Although the gold was not to be last night, we couldn't be any prouder of Bruce Mouat and the team.
"On behalf of the council and Dumfries and Galloway, I want to congratulate them on securing incredible Olympic silver medals.
"We are especially proud of our local stars: Grant Hardie from Kirkgunzeon and Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jr from Stranraer.
"To reach an Olympic final is a phenomenal feat that has captivated our region, from Stranraer to Sanquhar.
"These athletes are brilliant ambassadors for our communities and we look forward to welcoming our silver medallists home."
