The team provide a range of activities for young people aged 10 to 25 years, which give them the chance to take part in new experiences, gain nationally recognised qualifications and support their social and emotional wellbeing.
At the Oasis Youth Centre, Dan Turner’s eight-week cooking group participants gained a variety of skills. Youth worker, Dan, said:
“Young people come along to cooking group to learn a wide range of kitchen skills. They learn a new skill throughout each session to use in the Master Chef competition where they each prepare, cook and serve three dishes in two hours.”
Each participant spoke to the judges about their menu choices, explained their ingredients, and were assessed on presentation.
Youth work sessions can include groups activities, one-to-one support or events that are all free for young people to access.
Dan and all of our youth work team have our young people at the heart of everything they do.
