Dumfries and Galloway Council and SWestrans are continuing to respond to passenger feedback with further improvements to local bus services.

From Monday 20 October, all journeys shown on the 359 Newton Stewart to Girvan timetable will run every Monday to Saturday, including during school holidays. This means that services previously limited to school days only will now operate throughout the week.

This change offers passengers more consistent access to public transport and greater flexibility throughout the week. The service will continue not to operate on Sundays, in line with customer demand.

This is the latest in a series of enhancements made to the region’s bus network following public feedback. In September, improvements were introduced to services between Dumfries and Stranraer and between Dumfries and Dalbeattie, helping to strengthen connections and make travel more affordable.

The change to the 359 service forms part of a wider review of timetables in Wigtownshire, aimed at ensuring services better meet community needs. Passengers are encouraged to continue sharing their views as part of the ongoing review, which remains open until 31 October.
