Apply for a tables and chairs licence for a street cafe
If your business is on a public road and you want to have tables or chairs on the pavement outside, you need a permit.
How to apply
When we assess your application we'll consider:
- how much pavement space is available
- how busy the area is now for pedestrians
The permit costs £116 and expires on 31 December each year. If you want to continue using the space outside your business you must apply for a new permit.
We'll check you have proof of indemnification against all claims, injuries or accidents with cover up to £5 million for any one event, prior to placement of any furniture or associated structures on the footway.
