Changes to services
Service 383 Diversion: Eaglesfield (7 to 11 September 2026)
Road closure: B7076 motorway overbridge, Eaglesfield
Dates: 9am, Monday 7 September to 5pm, Friday 11 September 2026
Due to overbridge reconstruction works, the 383 service between Lockerbie and Annan will not serve Eaglesfield during this period.
The service will operate via Ecclefechan High Street, Hoddom Cross and Brydekirk before rejoining its normal route to Annan. The same diversion will apply in reverse towards Lockerbie.
Passengers travelling to or from Eaglesfield should use service 382 instead.
During the closure:
- all bus stops in Eaglesfield will be suspended
- bus stops on the B7076 will not be served
- Ecclefechan High Street will be the only stop served in Ecclefechan
B725 roadworks affecting bus services 6A and 6/6A
Roadworks on the B725 between Kingholm Quay and Glencaple will take place from 1 September 2026 to 29 January 2027.
The works will affect the 6A school bus (DGC Buses) and the 6/6A service bus (Houston's). Arrangements may change as the works progress.
Houston's 6/6A service
Houston's have advised that, due to the road closure, their buses will be unable to serve Kelton for the duration of the works.
Passengers wishing to use the 6/6A service should board or alight at either:
- Glencaple, or
- Kingholm Quay
DGC Buses 6A school service
During the first phase of the works, the 6A school bus will be unable to travel between Conheath Corner and Kingholm Quay. Passengers travelling between Kelton and Kingholm Quay should board and alight at:
- Conheath Corner, or
- Kingholm Quay
There is no alternative route available for the bus during this phase of the works.
As the roadworks move towards Conheath Corner, the 6A school bus will continue to operate using an alternative route. The service will travel from Kelton via Bankend Road to Glencaple, before returning to Kingholm Quay and continuing into Dumfries.
During this phase, passengers should board and alight at:
- Glencaple, or
- Kelton
Delays
We do not currently anticipate significant delays. However, temporary traffic management and diversion arrangements may affect journey times.
We will continue to work closely with DGC Buses and Houston's to monitor the impact of the works and address any issues as quickly as possible.

221 Wanlockhead service disruption
Due to the closure of the B797 between Mennock and Leadhills for landslip repairs, the 221 service will be unable to serve Wanlockhead from 24 August to 25 September 2026, between 9am and 5pm, weekdays only.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
D12 Lincluden service diversion
Due to the closure of Stewartry Road, the D12 Lincluden bus will be diverted from 5pm on 3 August to 5pm on 27 September 2026.
After serving College Road, buses will continue via Lincluden Road before returning to their normal route.
Bus stops on Stewartry Road will not be served while the road closure is in place.
Service 382 diversion in Gretna
Due to an earlier-than-planned road closure on the B7076 Glasgow Road and A75 east slip road in Gretna for bridge repairs, Service 382 (Lockerbie–Carlisle) is operating a diversion route from Monday 22 June 2026 until further notice.
The service will operate as normal to Springfield, then divert via Kirkstyle and Longtown before rejoining its normal route at Caledonia Park. Journeys towards Lockerbie will follow the same route in reverse.
Bus stops between Springfield and Caledonia Park will not be served during the closure.
Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
