Changes to services
Service changes: Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October 2026
DGC 236 service
Due to a road closure for resurfacing, the 236 service will not operate between Burnhead and Auldgirth on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October 2026.

Service changes: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026
Some DGC bus services will not operate on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026.

Saturday 17 October 2026
Service 415
The following journeys will not operate:
- 6.19am Whithorn to Port William
- 6.39am Port William to Whithorn
- 7.27am Whithorn to Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart
- 11.30am Minnigaff to Port William
- 12.55pm Port William to Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart
- 2.15pm Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart to Port William (via Whauphill)
- 2.50pm Port William to Whithorn
- 7.20pm Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart to Isle of Whithorn
The 6.04pm journey from Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart to Whithorn will be the last Service 415 bus of the day.
Service 359
Service 359 will operate a reduced service and will only run between Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart and Glentrool Village.
The following journeys will run:
- 9.05am Dashwood Square to Glentrool
- 11.18am Glentrool Village to Dashwood Square
- 11.38am Dashwood Square to Glentrool
- 1.53pm Glentrool Village to Dashwood Square
The following journeys will not operate:
- 3.40pm service
- 6.23pm service
Service 420
All Service 420 journeys are cancelled on Saturday 17 October 2026.
Sunday 18 October 2026
Service 415
Service 415 will not operate on Sunday 18 October 2026.
Service changes: Monday 19 October 2026

Service 420 (Newton Stewart town service) will not operate all day.
Service 415
The following journeys will not operate:

- 3.17pm Whithorn to Port William
- 3.50pm Port William to Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart
- 6.04pm Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart to Whithorn
B725 roadworks affecting bus services 6A and 6/6A
Roadworks on the B725 between Kingholm Quay and Glencaple will take place from 1 September 2026 to 29 January 2027.
The works will affect the 6A school bus (DGC Buses) and the 6/6A service bus (Houston's). Arrangements may change as the works progress.
Houston's 6/6A service
Houston's have advised that, due to the road closure, their buses will be unable to serve Kelton for the duration of the works.
Passengers wishing to use the 6/6A service should board or alight at either:
- Glencaple, or
- Kingholm Quay
DGC Buses 6A school service
During the first phase of the works, the 6A school bus will be unable to travel between Conheath Corner and Kingholm Quay. Passengers travelling between Kelton and Kingholm Quay should board and alight at:
- Conheath Corner, or
- Kingholm Quay
There is no alternative route available for the bus during this phase of the works.
As the roadworks move towards Conheath Corner, the 6A school bus will continue to operate using an alternative route. The service will travel from Kelton via Bankend Road to Glencaple, before returning to Kingholm Quay and continuing into Dumfries.
During this phase, passengers should board and alight at:
- Glencaple, or
- Kelton
Delays
We do not currently anticipate significant delays. However, temporary traffic management and diversion arrangements may affect journey times.
We will continue to work closely with DGC Buses and Houston's to monitor the impact of the works and address any issues as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your patience while these essential roadworks are carried out and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
D12 Lincluden service diversion
Due to the closure of Stewartry Road, the D12 Lincluden bus will be diverted from 5pm on 3 August to 5pm on 27 September 2026.
After serving College Road, buses will continue via Lincluden Road before returning to their normal route.
Bus stops on Stewartry Road will not be served while the road closure is in place.
Service 382 diversion in Gretna
Due to an earlier-than-planned road closure on the B7076 Glasgow Road and A75 east slip road in Gretna for bridge repairs, Service 382 (Lockerbie–Carlisle) is operating a diversion route from Monday 22 June 2026 until further notice.
The service will operate as normal to Springfield, then divert via Kirkstyle and Longtown before rejoining its normal route at Caledonia Park. Journeys towards Lockerbie will follow the same route in reverse.
Bus stops between Springfield and Caledonia Park will not be served during the closure.
Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
