DGC26 009 Stranraer Harbour Diving Operations 16 June 2026
Scientific diving operations in the vicinity of position:
54 56’.60N
005 00’.80W
4 cables west of Leffnoll Point, (approximately 1 nautical mile south of Port of Cairnryan), will be taking place from 22 June 2026 to 29 June 2026.
An HSE compliant dive team of 5 divers will be operating off vessel Dornoch Dancer, monitoring CH 16 & 12.
Up to 4 snorkel surveyors in standing depths (and therefore out of the way of any boating traffic) to the west of Loch Ryan, in Wig Bay, will also be undertaken during this period.
All diving and snorkel activity will have surface supervision displaying an ‘A’ flag.
All vessels are requested to keep clear of diving operations and pass at slow speed.
This notice will self-cancel on 30 June 2026.
16 May 2025 - New buoy
A new buoy has been placed at Stranraer Harbour to enhance safe navigation. It marks the southern limit of the fairway approaching Stranraer Marina and West Quay.
Buoy name: Stranraer Harbour
Buoy characteristics: Starboard lateral mark with top mark, height 3m
Light characteristic: Fl G 3s, 3nm, height 2.4m
Position: 54°54.749 N 005°01.907 W
There is a speed limit of 5 knots south of this buoy.
