Statutory consultation on the continued let of common good property, Former Council Offices, Water Street, Dalbeattie
We have received interest from a local group who are interested in leasing the Former Council Offices, Water Street, Dalbeattie
Overview
This property is held as part of Dalbeattie Common Good and therefore before taking a decision, the council is required to consult under section 104 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015. Further, as this property is inalienable Common Good, the council must also thereafter seek authority from the Sheriff of the Sheriff Court to alienate the property. For the avoidance of doubt, as this is for a lease of the property, this will not remove it from Dalbeattie Common Good.
An 8-week consultation period from Wednesday 28 October 2026 to Thursday 24 December 2026 will take place. We are inviting representations from the local Community Council, Community Bodies and members of the public on this proposal. Representations will be published here following the closure of the consultation.
