Dumfries and Galloway Council has opened a public consultation on draft planning guidance to Local Development Plan 2: Kirkcudbright Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan (CACAMP).
Kirkcudbright is a settlement on the estuary of the River Dee with a long history. It had castles linked with conquests; mediaeval streets; religious sites; a harbour and was the centre of an artist community. A conservation area was designated in 1974 to retain the special built character.
The draft CACAMP explores the character to help it to continue into the future.
A paper copy will also be available in Kirkcudbright Library, Daar Road, during its opening hours.
Views and comments are welcome from residents, businesses, visitors and people or groups with a general interest in preserving the character of the conservation area.
For further information about the consultation, contact the Local Development Plan Team by email: [email protected] or by phone on 030 33 33 3000 and ask for a message to be sent to the Local Development Plan Team who can get in touch with you.
