Overview

Biodiversity is the variety of all living things – from plants and animals to fungi and microorganisms – and the ecosystems they form.

Dumfries and Galloway Council is reviewing its Local Biodiversity Action Plan. This is a local strategy that sets out how we will protect and enhance nature across the region, translating national and international priorities into local action.

Whether you have professional expertise, local knowledge or simply an interest in nature, we would welcome your input.

We want to understand your views on biodiversity and nature restoration so we can update the plan and ensure it reflects local priorities.

Your feedback will help inform:

  • our updated Local Biodiversity Action Plan
  • future conservation and nature restoration work
  • the evidence base for the next Local Development Plan
