Overview

Dumfries and Galloway Council would like to hear your views to help make sure that our council’s Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee can establish a Community Resilience Policy that is informed by the perspectives of key stakeholders and communities by March 2026. This will help us achieve the outcomes set out in the Council Plan and promote the importance of individual and community preparedness.

What we will do

We will

  • hold in-person engagement sessions with Community Resilience Groups in the four areas
  • engage with the Youth Council and receive their feedback
  • present to the Community Councils Conference and invite Community Councils across the region to attend area engagement sessions
  • hold stakeholder engagement sessions
  • ask citizens to provide their feedback through an online questionnaire

Our Community Resilience Team will review all feedback received from the questionnaires and various focus groups. A report will be presented to the members of our Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee in February 2026.
