Development of 2026-2029 Children’s Services Plan
Dumfries and Galloway Council and NHS Dumfries and Galloway, working with our Community Planning partners, would like to hear your views to help make sure that the 2026-2029 Children’s Services Plan for Dumfries and Galloway is informed by the perspectives of key stakeholders and communities. This will help us to satisfy Part 3 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) 2014 Act which requires every local authority and its relevant health board to jointly prepare a Children’s Services Plan every three years.

What we will do
We will:
- hold in-person engagement sessions with families through a programme of Here for you! Children, Young People and Families Roadshows across Dumfries and Galloway
- engage with the Youth Council and other representative groups, and receive their feedback
- hold multi-agency workshops with staff and partners from across the Community Planning Partnership, including third sector organisations
- hold events for Elected Members and NHS Board and other key stakeholders
- carry out targeted engagement with other key stakeholders
- ask children and young people, parents and carers, staff, partners, and other key stakeholders to provide their feedback through an online questionnaire

This survey will close on 3 November 2025.
Our Children’s Services Team will review all feedback received from the questionnaires and other activities. This will then be presented to the Children’s Services Strategic and Planning Partnership in November 2025 and used to inform the development of the 2026-2029 Children’s Services Plan.
