We want your views on how to protect and manage the special character of Portpatrick.
Overview
Portpatrick has a unique history as a fishing harbour and route to Ireland. This has shaped how the village looks and feels.
We’ve written a draft plan to help guide any future changes in the area. It’s called the Portpatrick Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan (CACAMP).
We want to make sure the plan works for:
- people who live in Portpatrick
- local businesses
- visitors
- anyone with an interest in the area

- opens - Tuesday 24 June 2025
- closes - Monday 4 August 2025 at 5pm
- decision date – 2 September 2025 (Dumfries and Galloway Councillors can consider a final version on this date)

- councillors will review the final version on 2 September 2025
