Common Good Register Consultation

Following a review of assets we hold, we have prepared a draft register to update the existing Common Good Register published online.

Common Good property includes land, buildings and other assets that are held for the benefit of local communities. We are required to keep a Common Good Register to record these assets.

What we want your views on

We would like to hear from you if:

• you think additional assets should be included in the register and can explain why
• you think an asset listed is not Common Good property

To help you take part, we have also published:

• a summary of assets we propose to remove from the current register with the reasons for their removal
• a list of assets whose status is currently being reviewed

Paper copies are also available to view at our customer service centres during normal opening hours.

The consultation runs for 12 weeks from Friday 3 July 2026. We must receive all comments by 5pm on Friday 25 September 2026.

What happens next

After the consultation closes, we will:

1. publish all representations received
2. review the information and evidence submitted
3. decide whether any assets should be added to or removed from the register
4. report our recommendations to elected members
5. publish our response to the representations received and the final register within six months of the consultation closing

Keeping the registers up to date

If new information becomes available after the registers are published, we can update them to reflect that information and help ensure they remain accurate.
