Financial assistance to charitable organisations and community councils who aim to benefit the communities in the Burgh of Lockerbie, the Parish of Dryfesdale and Johnstone.
The Samuel Elliot Bequest provides financial assistance to charitable organisations and community councils who aim to benefit the communities in:
- the Burgh of Lockerbie
- the Parish of Dryfesdale
- Johnstone
Awards can be granted to aid community projects, events and activities.
Each application is looked at individually and on its own merits but must benefit and be in the interest of the communities in the Burgh of Lockerbie, the Parish of Dryfesdale and Johnstone.

There are 2 meetings held in April and September of each year. Applications are available at the Council Offices in Annan and should be submitted by letter 6 weeks prior to a meeting.
Payment
Applicants will be informed in writing following the relevant meeting. Payments will be made to the successful applicants by a direct payment to a bank account.
