Ward event - Accessiblity in Stranraer, 28 May 2025
Mr Jim Heron proposed this ward event to discuss his concerns regarding accessibility in Stranraer with Dumfries and Galloway Council and partners.
20 residents joined Stranraer and the Rhins councillors and senior staff from Dumfries and Galloway Council for a meeting chaired by Councillor Guisti.
During the meeting, residents were able to share their concerns and discuss potential solutions, these included:
- sloped pavements not meeting road levels
- cars parking on pavements and on easy access slopes
- ascertaining responsibility
- discover possible funding
- changing pavement parameters
- consider members of the public
