Pride in Place

The Pride in Place Programme is a UK Government initiative, originally launched as Long-Term Plan for Towns in 2023 and subsequently relaunched by the incoming UK Government as Plan for Neighbourhoods Programme in June 2025. A re-branding to Pride in Place was undertaken in October 2025.

Dumfries is one of 284 communities across the UK benefitting from support under the Pride in Place programme.

Dumfries Town Board 

Guidance was published in December 2023 on the process for establishing a Town Board to develop and deliver a Long-Term Plan for each town.
